... many people want to help!

In the last few days a lot has been happening regarding Wladimir Rosik’s freighter BM 5247. Many people have made a donation to the account at the bank “Kreissparkasse Lüchow – Dannenberg” that was specially opened for the relief campaign. The amount more than 10.000 Euros has already been reached. The men accompanying Hans Hermann Mietz and Hans Joachim Rogatzky of the technical relief organisation (THW) are highly motivated and are already preparing the freighter‘s rescue operation. Weather permitting, the specialised rescue operation will begin in Schnackenburg this week-end.

Hans Hermann Mietz from the technical relief organisation (THW) in Salzwedel says: “Time is running short, because the water level of the Elbe is currently at 3.60 m. This means that we would be able to pull the freighter out backwards in to the water.“ Although the total costs of the operation are still far from being covered, the helpers are still hopeful that the public will continue to make donations. Wladimir Rosik himself is deeply moved, even overwhelmed, by the huge support he has received from people all over Germany. People stretching from Munich to Hamburg have made a donation.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who has made a donation, no matter how small the amount. Only with your generosity, can the relief operation be carried out. Sponsors have been found that will provide the catering for the workers of the relief operation. The specialists of the heavy loads team from the THW are going to work at the week-end on a voluntary basis and have even taken unpaid leave in order to continue with the work in the coming week. The helpers are donating their spare time and their holidays for this good cause.
